Some call him a genius, others claim he's certifiably insane, a madman. Truth is, he's both, but more importantly, Lee Perry is a towering figure in reggae. By 1976 Lee Scratch Perry was entering his most creative and imaginative phase as a creator of music. This body of work is now rightly regarded as a high point in Jamaica's rich musical history. This long awaited set features three of Scratch's multi-textured instrumental/Dub sessions from the mid-to-late seventies. Opening with the original Jamaican mix of "Scratch The Super Ape", the collection also includes the equally rare "Roast Fish, Collie Weed & Corn Bread" and "Return Of The Super Ape", all of which receive their first official CD release with this incredible 2 CD set. Read the Pitchfork review and check out his profile at the emusic as well. He is a genius, IMO ;)
