AudioPorn Central is leaving the Blogger and the BETA period

Don't be scared it is not that bad:))
Our biggest aim is to remove the #?! BETA mark from the header.
In the last couple days we realised that we pretty much know what we want, how we wanna do it and it means the end of the BETA period. This blogger site was a good playground to create the APC feeling, and to make tests and experiments of our ideas. Now we have only one step, but like always, the latest step is the biggest and the hardest. The Blogger is not able to give us those main features what we need and if can't get them we can't give you quality content. So we will move.
Hopefully it will be easier than we think. Currently we are testing other blogger engines to find the one we need. Don't worry we will keep posting here while the moving. The only change is that we will not post 12 posts only 6 for few days, so you can come back and enjoy the APC everyday. We will keep you updated with the happenings of the moving. IMPORTANT!! The AudioPorn Central is a music site, but we are pretty crazy about the visual arts as well. So we started the AudioPorn Art Exhibition series. We are introducing an artist to you every week, it is like a virtual exhibition. If you browse around in the site you will find the pictures.

Few months ago I was googling pictures for the cover of my 'laura in the fiesta' mashup. Some of you know already, that I'm crazy about the mexican wrestler masks. Interview with Wexfordgirl

- When and how did you started to make visual art?
I have been drawing all my life. I ruined a mahogany bureau when I was four by drawing a bunch of bananas and a house on it. I went to art school in Ireland, where I grew up, and I just can't remember a time when I wasn't making, doodling, drawing, painting.

- Do you have other creative activities beside of that, or any connections to music?
I write poetry, although not as much as I used to. Right now my passion is painting, but perhaps I will return to writing one day. I love listening to music while I paint - Nirvana, Luna, Dylan, Madonna - yes my tastes are very varied. I also have a deep love of techno from my days partying in the mid '90s and I get some great painting done when I'm listing to that at full volume.

- Where can the people see your works?
On my Website http://wexfordgirl.typepad.com, and if you are in San Francisco I have a show opening September 8th at The Salon. I also have an Etsy store.

- Do you ever had and exhibition in the real life? when and where?
I had a couple of group shows in 2006, but just this year in June I had my first solo show at The Candy Store in the Mission district of San Francisco. It was awesome. I hung 100 paintings, and about 40 of them sold. I was very happy, and I felt like the Belle of the Ball at the opening party.

- Who is your fave designer of visual artist?
There are so many! Textile designers Josef Frank and Lucienne Day, graphic designers Paul Rand and Olle Eksell, the Royal Art Lodge, Camilla Engman, Clare Rojas, Mazwell Loren Holyoke Hirsch, Jim Houser, Chris Johanson, Rex Ray, Amy Cutler – I could go on and on! I also love Jaime and Gilbert Hernandez’s comic, Love and Rockets.


- What is the project you are working on now?
I am putting together a body of work for the Salon show, and my husband and I also do San Francisco Open Studios every October, so I'm getting ready for that too. I am still painting girls, bears, Mexican wrestlers. I like my work to have a narrative too, some kind of story we only see pieces of: What news is in the letter she’s holding? Why are the bear and the girl together in the woods?

AudioPorn Arcade>Pong Championship :D

It's my fault:) But I was not able to hold mysef back. While I was working on the AudioPorn Central's RSS based news scroll banner, I found the game widgets and the oldshool retro games. The RSS banner is ready, you can have it it is at the bottom of the right sidebar or in the AudioPorn Myspace, you can choose between two formats or even totally customize it to match it with your site's style. Anyway the weekend is here, after the hard working days have some fun wherever you are. There is no better way to warm up then listening some nice music what you can find here and enter the Pong championship :)) Who beats the machice first?

our very first week

Ah guys! What a week it was! Busy as hell, but full of joy, excitement and inspiration. We just passed over 4000 unique visitors in the first week, which is pretty good for the BETA test period IMO. THANK YOU ALL for your visits, comments, help, everything. This week seemed to be a lifetime for me, but I hope you agree a lot of development happened. Useless and not popular features been removed (poll, the hootie of the day and the old mp3 player) and new things been added (exhibition, Attuworld extra, last comments box in the sidebar). I hope you found many nice readings, stay tuned and keep coming back 'cos we will have many many new things soon! I see charts, office safe url, a new exhibition, more exclusive tracks or even long mixes coming in your way!!

The AudioPorn Central and the Attuworld started a new series together, everyday we will make one post at the Attuworld, something which is connected to one of our current themes. APC You make music videos and design as well, which was the first and when did you started it?

Pheugoo In 2004 I got familiar with the bootleg/Mash-Up scene due to the 2ManyDJs album "as heard on radio Soulwax pt 2" I liked the mashup thing right away and started to search the internet for more...
Soonish i found "gybo" which is a forum website where producers launge their mixes.
And I started to hang around over there.
To reward all the great things I found over there, I ofered to create cover arts for the the Mash-Ups. (so i started with the art!)
After a while, and hearing tons of Mash-Ups, a couple great ones but most of all bad ones i realized I could try to produce by myself.
With help from great produces such as John Marr, Dunproofin' and a couple more I shortly evaluated into a producer.
After a while I think halfway 2005 some kids such as VJBrewski putted the mashups into a new dimension (adding video) which I loved!
And i got tempted again and started to create videos as well...
So thats the story

APC Do you have other creative activities beside of these three?

Pheugoo Sure, I am a 6th of a Cabaret group. and we perform 4 till 6 times a year. All Acts are custom made so we never play the same act twice.
I also play Bass in a rockabilly punk rock over the rainbow band.
But thats for our ears only! so we nearly/never perform

APC Can you mention some visual artworks what you did?

APC Where can the people see your works?

Pheugoo Mainly I'm still active in the Mash-Up / Bootleg Scene.
I have the privilege to do artworks for Loo and Placido and VJ Brewski and many more I Also design record sleeves for Prank monkey records once in a while.

APC Do you ever had and exhibition in the real life?

Pheugoo No. The internet i my exhibition hall. Search, scroll and find The internet is a part of real life if you ask me.

APC Who is your fave designer of visual artist?

Pheugoo My favourite hero is an innovative typographic designer called: David Carson. I cant tell much about him or his work, you just have to experience it!
Go google him or something!

APC What is the project you are working on now, the next Pheugoo hit?

Pheugoo Since I work impulsive... getting an idea... collecting sources... putting em together.... and go to bed way to late.
I finish most of my ideas within 1 until 3 evenings. So I dont have piles of Mash-Up projects. Not even 1 at the moment.
But i can tell there is another video coming up within 1 month!
